We have a lovely time wandering aimlessly down the cobbled streets of Florence.
The Italian macelleria will have fewer pre-butchered products. If you ask for a slice of turkey that you want to make into scallopini, the butcher will slice the required number of scallops from a turkey breast for you while you wait. There is also a wider variety of meat and poultry in an Italian macelleria. You’ll probably find rabbit and horse, and sometimes donkey meat. There is also likely to be pheasant, quail, and a variety of types of chicken.
A shop full of beautiful handmade knives.
In this little Grocery store we found every possible thing bottled, bagged, and crammed into every available space. It was fascinating to browse the shelves. There was fresh vegetables, spices, chocolates, wine, cheese, dried meats, biscuits, jams, preserves, flowers…….the list goes on. We didn’t want to leave.
It’s time to head back to our hotel, we are not sure whether to take this little electric car or hitch a ride with this Italian gentleman. Which one would you choose?
