We started the day with a lovely early morning walk and breakfast near Lily Lane. I had deliciously fresh organic, scrambled eggs and Lily Lane coffee. We were treated again to lovely views.
I am thrilled with the progress I am seeing. It is because of the enthusiasm and dedication of my students that I can see this happening. Some people have never painted before, but they have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into developing their skills. I feel humbled by the fact that everyone has thrown away all judgement (of themselves) and they have approached their learning with a fresh and positive commitment. I am in awe of the extraordinary achievement I am seeing in everyone, no matter what level they were at the start of the retreat.
After another great morning of painting, we all bundled into our luxury coach with the amazing Jill and Wayan as our trusted minders. We had a bus picnic on the way, prepared for us by the fantastic Lily Lane staff.
Wayan navigated through the streets of Ubud with such ease taking us to our final destination the silver jewellery shop. Jill had organised for us all to have a jewellery making workshop. We were all very excited and made some pretty amazing rings. Some of us also treated ourselves to a little extra silver!!!!
Wayan came and collected us all to take us home to refresh before going out for me dinner to a seafood restaurant specially chosen for us by the Lily Lane team. We had some more lovely food and then were treated to a visit to the market where the local people of Ubud go shopping. No tourists!!! Oh, except us.
Another Jam packed day comes to an end. It is so hard to describe this adventure, the friendships made, the art produced, the food, the colour, the textures, the culture….. I know I will be sad to see it end, but I also know I will enjoy thinking about it last thing at night just after I close my eyes for sleep. Night. X
