Lisa is a full time artist who works from her studio in Victoria. She is a very experienced art teacher and has the ability to help students develop their art skills and unique style quickly. Lisa has been featured in art magazines and has painted in many different countries. She has exhibited widely with her most recent solo exhibition ‘The Wild Side’ raising funds to help save wildlife at risk of extinction. Lisa paints in watercolour, acrylic, pastel, ink, oil crayon and charcoal. Lisa’s quirky, colourful style and supportive and encouraging teaching style makes her a favourite with artists of all levels.

Overview: The Art Retreat consists of art workshops & excursions conducted by accomplished artist, Lisa Addinsall, and accommodation & activities at Lily Lane Villas. Indulge yourself in a tropical paradise with healthy food, rice paddy walks, massages, visits to local Balinese artists including painters, silversmiths, wood carvers and with time built in for just lazing in your private pool in your garden villa. It’s during the 2016 September Victorian school holidays so partners and/or family are welcome to join you and/or do their own thing, like white water rafting, downhill bike riding etc. You can stay pre or post the Art Retreat to take advantage of all there is to do and see in this beautiful mountain retreat.
Accommodation: Lily Lane Villas
The beautiful private villas are managed by English speaking Balinese onsite owner/managers, Wayan Sukirta and Made Subur. They are located in Penestanan, one of the 12 villages that make up the area known as Ubud. Prices include breakfast and wifi. Guests can request yoga, massage, manicure and/or pedicure in the onsite day spa; rent a bicycle/scooter to explore the surroundings; or arrange tours further afield. Painting Studio: Large open sided pavilion with garden & rice paddy views. The studio will be open for participants to work independently outside of workshop hours.
Class size: 10 maximum
Cost: $990 Includes art tuition, one ‘Painting in Paradise’ art apron, entrance to galleries, 2 x 1hr massages, daily rice paddy walks, one cooking class, all meals and drinking water except two lunches and one dinner, and local transport. Materials include 1 x canvas, use of paints, (watercolour, acrylic, pastels, stencils, inks charcoal).
Payment Schedule: The total cost for the Art Retreat is AUD$990 (or AUD$940 for Early Bird Registration). A $500 deposit (or AUD$450 deposit for Early Bird Registration by 1 June, 2016) is required to secure your booking by 1 July, 2016. Full payment of the balance is due by 25 July 2016 (60 days prior to the Art Retreat commencement date). If booking less than 60 days prior, then the full Art Retreat and accommodation costs must be paid immediately to secure your place.

What is included in the Art Workshops
Tuition: Twelve sessions of painting and drawing tuition, with a highly skilled teacher.
Transport: to and from the venues, except from airport/hotel – these transfers can be confirmed when booking accommodation.
Catering: Morning/afternoon tea & snacks. All meals at Lily Lane Villas as listed, unless otherwise indicated. When dining at local restaurants, participants would choose from a set menu and will be required to pay for their own alcohol. Please advise us of any dietary requirements. Those with nut allergies are advised that peanuts are used extensively in Indonesian kitchens, so guarantees cannot be made regarding your safety.
Art Supplies: Materials will be shared or provided, unless otherwise indicated. For example, acrylic paints, brushes, pencils, mediums, palettes, canvas boards, easels. You will receive your own Painting in Paradise apron at the first workshop.
Excursions: to local Art Galleries and an Art Market with an English speaking guide; enjoy the bustling Gianyar Night Market and a visit outside Ubud to photograph the World Heritage rice terraces at Tegalalang.
Cultural Activities: Learn about the spices used in Balinese cuisine in a Balinese Cooking Class: includes transport to Ubud Market; experience a traditional cultural dance at a stunning venue; and learn how to make one of the exquisite religious offerings made daily by Balinese families.
What’s NOT included in the Art Retreat:
Airfares: Prices vary between Jetstar, Tiger [formerly Virgin], Garuda, AirAsia etc. Try to arrive the day before the retreat starts so you have acclimatised to the warm weather and you are well rested.
Airport transfers: A driver can meet you at the airport at a cost of AUD$40. You will have the peace of mind that he will wait for you even if your flight is delayed – at no extra cost. This service can be arranged when you confirm your accommodation. It takes between 45mins and one hour to travel from the airport to Lily Lane Villas.
Passport: It is your responsibility to ensure your passport is up to date prior to booking the retreat, and that your passport has 6 months validity past your travel dates. Please check that with the Australian passport office or your own passport office for international travellers. Upon arrival in Bali you need a visa. These visas need to be filled out on the aircraft and are issued/ stamped on arrival for Australian passport holders. As of March 2016, there is no cost for Australians for a 30 day Visa on Arrival to Bali.
Travel insurance: Please ensure that you are covered on the days that you fly as well as your time away. Please also ensure that should you have a health condition that you have your medication with you in Bali. A doctor will gladly write you a cover note itemising your medications. Consult with your doctor in preparation for your trip.
Accommodation: The Art Workshops take place at Lily Lane Villas. When you register, you will need to request which villa is most suitable to meet your needs. Check out is 12noon; a late checkout fee is 50% of one night’s accommodation, so please advise if you would like to keep your villa until 6.00pm on your last day.
Art materials: You will need to bring
- Watercolour paper, 300gsm min weight.
- Sketchbook suitable for wet and dry media, A5 or A4
- Pencil, eraser, charcoal, several black fine liners in different sizes- 0.1-0.8
- Brushes; suitable for acrylic-synthetic round sizes 24, 16, 12, 3 and a fine liner 2, 1 inch acrylic flat brush
- Watercolour brushes-preferably hair, sizes 2, 4 & 6
- Water container, paper towel, masking tape and board, palette
- Watercolour paints; French Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Cadmium Red, Raw Umber, Viridian, Brown Madder, Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Sienna, Aureolin Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Neutral Tint, Chinese White, Cerulean Blue. (These are suggested colours only; you may have other colours that you prefer)

Personal expenses: Personal items and gifts such as mini bar usage, laundry, postage, extra spa treatments, extra meals, personal transport, optional tours and so on.
Security: Your luggage and personal items are your responsibility at all times. There are personal safes in each villa, and it is your sole responsibility to ensure that your belongings are safely secured.
Additional meals: When we are not booked into a restaurant or venue as outlined on your itinerary. Use the bottled water that is provided at all times for drinking and brushing teeth.
Friends and family: If partners, friends or family wish to come along with you to Bali but only wish to participate in some of the activities related to the Art Retreat, these costs can be individually calculated upon registration in the program.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Pricing changes: All prices are quoted in Australian dollars. REMEMBER you will need to organise your own flights to and from Bali. Due to the varying exchange rates, fuel costs, government taxes and so forth, prices quoted are subject to change without notice. All care will be taken to take in any minor changes in currency fluctuations.
Cancellation charges: The retreat costs will be fully refundable minus an administration cost of AUD$100 if cancellation is received more than 90 days before commencement date. If cancellation occurs 90-60 days before start of retreat there is an AUD$300 fee cancellation administration cost: at 60 to 30 days before start of retreat a 50% of total cost is refunded. If cancellation occurs less than 30 days before the start of the retreat date there will be no refund. All cancellations must be made in writing via email.
Liability: In addition, the organisers are under no obligation or liability to any person as a result from inaccuracy, description or changes to any of the tour or itinerary or for the losses or additional expenses due to delays, strikes, war, quarantine, acts of God, improper documents or any other cause. On occasions, changes need to be made; we reserve the right to do so. While all care and consideration will be taken into account for mishaps that may occur along the way, for any unused services during and after the retreat cannot be exchanged or refunded. You will be aware that the organisers of Painting in Paradise art retreat accept no responsibility or liability for death, injury, sickness or accident to any person, or loss of or damage to any property, or cancellation, or delay, substitution, or deviation arising out of, or in connection with accommodation, transportation, conveyance, or any other service provided by hotels, restaurants or any services as per the itinerary and timetable before, during and after the art retreat.
Teacher/Host: Should Lisa Addinsall need to cancel her attendance due to unforeseen, unavoidable circumstances, another tutor/ or art activity of similar stature will be organised to take her place. Please understand that no refund can be offered in these circumstances.
Retreat Cancellation: If the organisers need to cancel the retreat, in this case a full refund will be issued, including the deposit to the participants. You should obtain confirmation that your Travel Insurance will cover your costs, if the retreat is cancelled.

It is our understanding that guests will arrive on different flights and stay for different lengths of time before or after the Art Retreat. Despite this being high season in Ubud, a 10% discount is offered for all accommodation bookings. A non-refundable deposit to hold the booking, including extra single beds, if required. Prices are per villa in Australian dollars including 10% discount, and includes breakfast and wi fi: Each extra bed and breakfast is an additional AUD$30.
