While we had breakfast this morning we were treated with the arrival of the artists setting up their mini exhibitions for day. We chatted with one of the stall holders. He was there with his mother. She painted in oil, watercolour and charcoal, diversifying to meet the demands of the tourists. We asked him if he painted, he said he was learning watercolour. He did not have any paintings to show yet, he was his mothers apprentice and did the sales while she painted for the public. I wonder if it would be a good life, or if painting all day to suit a certain market takes away your spontaneity and creativity.
