I always look forward to weekends as I can usually find some time to work on Betsy my bondwood caravan.
Today I removed the sink and stove cabinet. It was the last piece left inside and it wasn’t going without a fight. I had to remove the drain pipe and water hose inorder to get the sink out. I am making it up as I go along, so I found an old handsaw and cut the pipe so I could remove the sink.
Time to sit in the space and draw some designs. I am stilll not sure how the inside will look when it is finished. I have carefully removed all of the inside and taken photos and I am hoping to use as much of the old timber as I can. I have several ideas, but they will have to wait until my next major task is completed. I need to pull up the floor to get to the axles, springs and a whole heap of rusty steel that needs to be cleaned up.
But first Betsy needs a good clean on the outside. I have a quick lesson with the guerney and off I go. It does an amazing job, I am also thrilled to report that the only leak was through the broken window, that is a relief.
Moss growing on the outside.
The tarp is back on and I am resting on the couch. If you are enjoying my ‘Bringing Betsy Back’ blog, please remember to subscribe. Thank you.
