There is nothing I love more than coming back into the studio after a few days away. Seeing the students paintings this morning was such a wonderful thrill. The vibrant colours they are using and the fresh, spontaneous marks they are making are giving me such joy.
After having fun with the spray bottles, the next step was to paint in some large blocks of colour. The students painted in some wonderful shapes and used the colour wheel to ensure harmony in the painting.
The process I use involves layering paint, and a variety of mediums, until the painting pleases me. It is very intuitive and an ever evolving process. It is also a very relaxing way to paint and perfect for experimenting. A lot of happy accidents!
